Trackside Support
HRC trackside support services offer dedicated engineers from the current trackside team for tests, track days and race events. The HRC engineer will monitor the engine and vehicle performance as done in the IndyCar Series and IMSA GTP to ensure optimal and sustainable performance.
Additionally, HRC engineers can provide data analysis and real time feedback to improve overall performance or trouble shoot any unexpected issues. Specifically HRC trackside engineering can:
- Analyze real time telemetry, sensor data and timing to support vehicle health
- Identify set up changes including suspension, aero, and tires to support vehicle performance
- Translate driver feedback into actionable changes to the vehicle performance
- Optimize pace vs. durability
Engine Rebuild
HRC Heritage offers full engine rebuilds for select Sportscar engines. The same technicians that are building the latest Indy 500 winning engine are here to rebuild your engine. HRC engines are designed and tested to mileage limits aligned intended to achieve in period on track success. Over time, track use and historic racing wears down critical components leading to losses in power, efficiency and reliability. HRC technicians complete tear downs of heritage engines and inspect them to the same requirements as in period for part wear, cracks and required tolerances. Parts are replaced and the engine is then rebuilt to its original competition condition - ready to race again. In some cases, current usage may differ from in period demands and as such changes are made to ensure expected performance and reliability.
The HRC Heritage Racing Program also offers inspections on any historical HRC North American racing engine, from CART and IRL to WEC and ALMS. Pinnacle racing technicians perform a series of checks including: a general visual inspection, a 'nut-and-bolt' check, borescope inspection, water system pressure test, documentation verification, and dyno testing is available for certain engines (with broader availability coming over time). Once inspected and passed, HRC provides the inspection results created by experienced engine builders and ships the engine back to you. Whether you are looking for a routine mileage limit rebuild, trouble diagnosis or a health check on your existing engine, HRC has the expertise to strengthen engine performance and durability.
Restoration
Without Racing, there is no Honda. The aim of the Heritage Racing Program is to honor all of the Racing Machines that have played a crucial role in Honda's racing history. Returning them to pristine and race-worth condition is of the utmost importance. HRC partners with expert teams and restorers to accomplish this mission. It begins by completely disassembling and carefully cataloging every component to preserve the car's authenticity and heritage.
From there, the car is meticulously rebuilt, faithfully blending period-correct aesthetics with modern advancements where necessary. HRC's team of experts handles everything from authentic bodywork remanufacture and livery replication, to complete overhaul of the suspension, braking systems, and, if needed, modernization of electronics. The result is a stunning, historically accurate machine that is not only a showpiece but a fully functional racecar capable of running just as it did in-period. Consultancy
HRC offers tailored expert guidance across the maintenance, restoration, sourcing and racing of heritage Honda and Acura racing cars. The heritage program has access to original drawings, homologation documents, trackside notes and the original team members to help preserve and maintain heritage cars as originally designed and raced. Offering to bridge the gap between originality and practical usability, HRC is uniquely positioned to guide vehicle specifications via connection to historical racing series and event technical leadership.
Because each owner’s goals may be different, HRC’s research and consultancy is bespoke. Upon request, HRC can be engaged to research parts, set ups and history details of a particular engine or car, or inquire to a particular series or event to help support acceptance.
